wedding blues

so my dear cousin is getting married next week!!!! NEXT WEEK...... geez time flies sooooo quickly and i cant go for his wedding at bali............. damn it
i just saw him over summer and we were still kidding about his engagement and now its just days to his wedding!!!!!!!
and i cant believe i cant make it!!!!! sigh stupid finals....

thanksgiving break

weeeeeeeeeeee first day back in school since thanksgiving and i thot it was off to a bad start coz i left home late but in my first class i just got back my 2nd midterm and guess wat?! i got a 100%!!!!!! yay!!!!! hahahaha seriously when did i last get such good grades?! *cross my fingers its a good omen for the rest of my tests that will come back tmr.....

so over the break, i......
- ate lots of yummy food
- spent time with great company
- drove a manual sports car
- shopped way toooooo much that im feeling broke
- pretty much figured out one of the most important christmas pressie that i have yet to settle
- bought more things to add on to gifts i have already bought for loved ones
- got slooshing drunk
- went to a car thingy that involved some drivers attempting to drift... thou giving the others credit they were pretty good
- checked out modified cars
- cute bartenders :D
- breakfast burritos

and i was hoping school to be closed for an extra day coz of more fires at malibu but i guess not.... so now im sitting outside in the sunshine with planes flying over my head :)

so since my dear friend cant come down to see it herself i had to go rite? hehe

it was a really cool exhibition with an LV rite smack in the middle of the whole place selling limited edition murakami bags that even i havent seen it! so tempted to get at least something but oh well me no money............

the stupid exhibetion didnt let me take pictures but i managed to sneak some before i was caught!
will go again before it closes coz its cheap to go to and really nice to take a look at and i still want to shop at the store to buy some stuff but the day i went the queue was so damn long!

life

just over the weekend i had a friend involved in a fatal drink driving accident.... thankfully he's now very slowly recovering in the icu but things can change for the worse anytime so fingers are still kept cross thou to be optimistic he's now regain consciousness and signs are promising.

but tonite another incident comes to mind which ive tried hard to put it away.

its been 4 years since a dear friend passed on to be by God's side. it wasnt as if i was uber close to her but close enuf to feel the emptiness once she left. i guess at that time, i still took things for granted and when she fell ill i never expected it to be fatal as it was along diagnosed to be a flu. before she passed i never got to see her. for awhile i felt guilty for not being caring enuf to make the effort to go visit her while i cld and i still do till this day when i think abt it

i guess when death is in the air, any connection is too close for comfort.

end of the day, all we human can take comfort is that God has plans for all of us and when we do pass on it is onto something good

its just been crazy coming back to school with all this mess around that its depressing to an extent.... cant imagine how its like down at san diego. but my wonderful school was so thotful that they did not even bother evacuating the students even thou the flames were already licking the buildings! utter madness.......

well now life has settled.... was hoping for a weekend at napa this weekend but my friends are too lazy to drive up so i'll just spend it with them instead in downtown :) need to start shopping for christmas prezzies coz it'll take me forever to get off my arse to do it so hopefully if i plan now.... i'll eventually get arnd to doing so :D

a mth and a little more and it'll be back to home again! time passes way too quickly

school remains closed
friends camping out at my place while schools is being evacuated

but
spend time cooking too much every time
fridge is now filled with leftovers enuf to feed an army!
shopping at nearby factory outlet :)

fire!

its been one hella crazy weekend!

did so much driving thks to having my mother in town.... then last nite i cldnt slp coz the santa ana winds were in town and it kept howling outside my window causing my car's alarm to go off at least twice!
and this morning i woke up to friends in my house coz they've been evacuated from school! hehe no school tmr!!!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
what happened was that telephone lines fell in the canyon next to school and started a huge fire! the church rite across from our school has been burnt down to bits
and coz of the crazy wind..... the fire even spread out to other parts of mid cali.

even up till now there's 0% containment and its already 10pm so hopefully school remains closed for awhile :D

its now all smokey outside with the air covered with smoke and we're even running the aircondition to ventilate the air in the house :)

haha and like my friend said its becoming an annual thing these bush fires :D

dessert cravings

i just read that my favourite dessert place back home is having a macaroon fest!!!!

JOHAN! both of us shd be there rite now!!!!

they are having all kinds of different macaroons and even serving macaroon high tea! and the box is sooooo cute! sigh i want to be home rite now............ will it be crazy for someone to send some to me here? im deprived of good desserts here :( haha i just thot of someone who's coming up soon but too bad he's not coming straight to LA......

it was my grandmother's 80th bday this weekend and like all indo family gatherings it was full of politics and drama sheesh....
and im exhausted! back to sanity now with 4 bruises and a cough and a little runny nose :p

hope everyone got their fill of beer coz i didnt... if it wasnt for sarah who mentioned it the other day i wldnt haf even realised that it is the beer season... life here is so boring.... how sad.

sooooooooooo i've just ended a dreadful week of madness in school but starting a weekend of lots and lots and lots and lots of family....... starting exactly a week ago i had 1 midterm, monday i had a paper due for history, lit on tues and today was quant and international marketing.... my brain is officially kaputs! but im glad with my results so far.... got my first paper back already and i did pretty well so crossing my fingers its a good omen for the rest :D
this weekend will not be relaxing..... as much as im looking forward to spending time with my cousins all in one place.... i haf to say im way too exhausted to feel the excitment. sigh. if only it was a different weekend.

just a little more it'll be the end of the month, then it'll be thanksgiving then it'll be time to go home! and its christmas again!!! can u imagine? time passes so quickly :) but rite now i wish it was going just a little faster....... im getting a little impatient

~its the middle of the semester and im loosing steam.... no mood to really study or do anything really.... all i want to do is curl up in my bed and read or sew more bears (and i just purchased a new bear book online so hopefully it'll turn out useful) or go on a holiday... and this is coming at the worse time of the semester too.... having midterms within the next 2 weeks and after alot of random presentations and essays due etc...... and it sucks not having certain persons arnd to make it better.... not having pple to go and martinis with :p im in need of a nice good strng drink desperately

~are relationships worth it?
sometimes i just dont think they are..... its really nice while u're with that person, and hearing things like they'll be there for u no matter what. so doesnt that include even after the relationship? i mean i dont need my exes to be there but where's the normal civility? y the need to spread untruths or even details of the relationship to others or even oversensitivity? sigh.... maybe i shd just stop trying to be friends with my exes. i personally find it sad that after all that time being with the person and to stop all contact coz it didnt work out, but i guess thats life

hilarious dont u think? anyway the only reason y im even blogging about this is that
1. im procrastinating about my homework and trying to put it off till as late as possible
2. i felt like blogging and wanted pictures
3. 2 different people have told me recently that while watching wedding crashers they thot she reminded them of me! hahahaha

anyway i tried making my aunt's quiche today and it turned out bad.... not horrible but still edible but still not good. might have been bcoz i added a little too much flour or egg.... it now just taste like a dry pie hahaha very long way from a quiche but i'll try again another time

in priscilla's style, i went shopping yesterday with a good friend of mine that's leaving way too soon :( my fridays now are going to be sooooo boring.... had to look for a blue dress for my grandma's bday thingy and i've decided not to bother anymore coz im spending too much money on everything else but the damn dress hahaha maybe i'll be able to get away with linen pants and a nice blue top heh oops but well no more shopping for me for a long long long long long time..... or until my mom comes hahaha

~i want to go to napa valley and eat and drink wine :) wonder who i shd go with........

bear lovin

haha introducing my brand new addition to my bear collection! and i made it from scratch too!!! proud of me? heh
my dear friend swasti is leaving in a week so i decided to spend friday with her.... we both had the most wonderful sushi lunch at beverly hills before walking to get sprinkles the cupcakes and yummy quiche on rodeo.... since swas was also down with a little flu, we decided to seek refuge at her house and i got her to teach me how to make a teddy frm fur! i sat my ass down for 8 hours!!!!!!! sewing, stuffing, poking myself etc..... and i ended with leaving her place with benadryl.... the bear's name for now :) haha coz both of us were pretty much coughing away the whole time we were making her

benadryl has a belly button, hair pin and an uneven nose hahahaha

yup so pris has finally done something crafty :)

it was nicole's bday recently and she bought yummy dinner at takami sushi in downtown la.... and i think its time to gif up my poor camera.... its acting up all the time now sigh :(

starting my 4th week of school now.... a routine is starting and even with 3 days of classes only, the other days are all used up catching up on homework and the tons of reading that comes with my silly american history and eng lit class.

over the weekend, i got involved with a commitment that i hope for it to work out. crossing all fingers and toes!

im missing particular person(s) right now
wish all could just come with me to wherever i go

these people are irreplaceable
my family included of course

but other than my family, i wish i cld pocket them with me........

little things like going shopping, having a martini, laughing at the most retarded things just dont seem to happen without them.
time spent with them makes the day so much better and brighter

and i missed my brother's commissioning

so much has happened since my leaving just 2 weeks that it makes it so much longer....
