i know its been awhile since my last update and lots have happened.... the past few weeks have been one of the worse/traumatic weeks of my life. loads happened and im so very grateful for my gfs and their non-wavering support and love. it was made bearable. between my bestest friends to even my other friends who didnt knw anything was happening, they all provided distractions that really helped. to my bestest friends - without u all, i wldnt have been able to go thru it without u
but enuf of this soapy love and sadness.... i have finally received the photos of our trip... all 2 cds worth of it :D jo had tons of fun snapping away hahaha as evident of the photos i received
first stop was shanghai.... jo was horribly sick when i met him at changi and took the next 6 hours stuck next to a very sick person who basically passed out the whole flight :)
but upon our arrival we were looking forward to the next 2 wks of adventure!
our hotel!
to our great surprise... we were upgraded to a suite for the whole duration of our stay! it was GREAT
the view from our window... and as u can see frm our pictures... it was thks to jo's latest toy that we're able to take really cool panoramic shots
first swelthering hot nite out in shanghai:
we stumbled onto nanjing lu and the story is... this is jo's 2nd trip to shanghai and the best part is his 1st was with me too!!!!
Day 2: In Search of Xiao Long Bao
i dragged poor sick jo to haf xiao long bao at the uber crowded chen huang miao with me
he wanted the big xiao long bao which he got :)
on our way out we smelled this wonderful deep fried dish... followed our nose to this...it was fried crabs... and it smelt delicious we were tempted to buy one to share even thou we were stuffed! but we realised they had fried a whole crab and the way to eat it was tooo messy... coz we literally had to bite thru the shell and spit it out etc etc
then it was off to taikang lu.... we wanted to look for dvds to buy coz that day in china... most tv channels were "paused" in commemoration of the flooding that was happening. we made our way down a distance of hua hai lu and gave up after resting at starbucks and the sky looked like it was going to pour anyway. we decided to seek refuge in our great room, and just borrowed dvds frm rm service :)
Day 3: taking it Easy for the big day that wld happen the next day
spent it at xin tian di had a great relaxing lunch, walked arnd abit and decided to stay in away from the heat... at nite, we set out in search for the best noodles arnd the neighbourhood that was recommended by our conceirge and made our way to the bund :)
Day 4&5: the whole point of going to Shanghai in the first place - World Expo
the 1st sight in......
only in China... pple placed in cattle pens
these were the lines that we had to join in order to gain entry to the world expo
of course in preparation of a whole day ahead of lines and pure madness... no makeup was put on hahaha the rare few times im out in public with no makeup! jo had our route for the day all planned out.... first up
by the time we were done with the Spanish pavilion, we both had reach the end of our nerves dealing with the Chinese so decided to call it quits then
day 2 evening, we covered another 5 pavilions
lets see if i can remember the places we went: UK, neatherlands sweden, denmark, norway, finland, Austria, Spain... indo, singapore, australia, turkmenistan, and another stan country ahhaa
met up with jo's friend and that was our last nite in shanghai....
we left the next day off to tokyo but of course the efficiency of chinese airlines meant that our flight was delayed and possibly cancelled! urgh but we spotted these at the airport and just HAD to buy them
that was the end of shanghai... looks like im going to haf to wait to blog abt tokyo... tons of photos to shive thru and upload
but most importantly i better get ready for f1!!!! shd i change my choice this year to vittel but hamilton looks like he's in good place too... we shall see
