problems

ok so i dont knw if its coz of the earthquake in taiwan or that blogger is having problems... but this site has been giving me problems tt's y the lack of updates.

also i havent been able to upload any pics to accompany my last post. so just check back later when i can finally update my last post to haf pics to make it look prettier.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

blogger is having problems so hopfully i wont need to redo this again.....

the past week has been absolutely crazy...... once finals were over it was non stop partying...... party to celebrate finals being over and then party to send people off. and then it was mad rush to spend time with gina before heading back to spore.... where i am now

its been raining non stop here since ive arrived and maybe tt's wat's making me think so much coz i haf no mood to head out of the hse with such a dreadful weather. i miss the idea of hongkong. hk right now has gina.... i miss her so much. christmas has been so different without her... im dreading new year without her. gina's the one person to make new year a wonderful event... its like something's missing rite now. spore's not complete

had a wonderful christmas dinner at M at the fringe.... and then brunch at the landmark for their yummy lychee sorbet... good enuf to compete with iberry yummmm all this with my dear gina before leaving

and my friends that ive met this past semester. fall 2006 has been one huge adventure... meeting different people in a whole new country. i guess as all wonderful things have to come to an end... this semester drew to a close with one party after another celebrating the friendships we've made. the memories made were once in a lifetime and i will not forget them. pepp now seem so bland next to wat ive experienced in the past 4 mths, the people not as interesting. just as ive gotten use to seeing certain people once a day to the least once a week.... now i dont knw when im going to next see them. thinking back i guess i cld haf made life easier and not get too attached to the pple in hk but then i wld be missing out on all the good times i did haf when i was with them. im sad to think that i wont be seeing them soon but yet when i reminisce abt all the time spent together, it puts a smile on my face. im really going to miss them

first it was stuey who left us really early, then tomek the crazy polish and ryan, the americans and lastly the frenchies and italians. the last nite of the italians... giulio, giancarlo and alberto all decided in their drunken stupor to come into my room at 5 in the morning and announced that it was my lucky nite. i was going to be allowed to choose one of the italian stallions to spend the nite with but it ended up being all 3 of them passing out in my room heh :) i gotta love them... the next day for lunch giulio was soooooo sweet to treat me to my last meal at the cafe... bbq pork rice. it was a party downstairs outside of the cafe with the wind blowing. the remaining italians, french and i were all eating their last meal of bbq pork together... a meal that is unforgetable.

hongkong will always be a place that has a special meaning in my heart... not for the place and the people coz i dont really like it but for the meaning it holds to me

taking a break

hehe so ive jus finished 2 out of 3 really hard finals... got stats tmr and i have absolutely no mood to start studying so im jus taking a break and decided to do this silly survey for the fun of it. for those who knw me... think its true? hahahha jus need to get thru tmr and its PARTY!!!!!!! wanna spend more time with gina before sinclair comesand i need to get more christmas shopping done coz now i've been assigned to get cousins' pressies too the weather is absolutely freezin here and im so smart to leave all my winter wear in la :p so much is going to happen within the next few days....everyone's leaving slowly which means partying before that.... and missing all my friends that ive made hereheading home for christmas and more partying there... not to forget the eating toomoving to my new hse in malibuand then its down to boring school.... BUT i get to see brad in az!

its so sad that this weekend has passed so fast and its monday already.....

spent the weekend settling gina in.... stayed over at her place all weekend jus chilling and all. and jus like that im back in school to do some serious studying before i go back to central tmr till wednesday and then its freaking out time!

a Scottish affair

i've jus gotten back from being dragged (at the very last of last minute) to a rugby dinner. another girl cldnt make it so my friends decided that since im so enthusiastic for anything rugby i'd be the perfect candidate to replace her despite the fact that i have to study! so they whinned and tried to reason their way arnd and i decided to be nice and go :) and im not regretting my choice... thou im back earlier than most of the others coz im suppose to be either studying or slping to be able to get up early tmr to study.. but obviously i got sidetracked yet again :p

it was a scottish christmas celebration... the most tamed rugby event ive ever been to. but by the time i got there all my friends were mostly already drunk so it was fun for me :) stuey, being scottish, danced the nite away.... and ladies here's a tip: scottish guys can definately dance!!! stuey was an amazing dance partner to haf! its crazy the number of scottish dances he knew by heart.

tonite i learnt that scottish dancing involves alot of twirling and twirling and more twirling. this was really dizzy esp if u haf silly guy friends like me to twirl u even more! the whole nite involved us on the dancefloor dancing and twirling and dancing and twirling... it was crazy fun :)

so when u put 2 italians an argentinian and a scottish together.... u haf a crazy ass group of guys on the dance floor making a fool of themselves and their partners :) it was sooooo fun thou... i cldnt stop laughing

on another note: Gina's coming in a few hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

housing

due to my overwhelming luck or lack of it,
i haf managed to score 2 wonderful housing for next semester!!!!
firstly, housing off campus with my good friends. i havent seen it yet but its suppose to be a great huge house. i have my own room which is suppose to be a good size and its close to campus and its jus good... the driveway can fit up to 10 cars!!!!!!!!
NOW... i find out i haf housing on campus too! a single room! FREAK........... i NEVER thot i would get a single at all!!!! its near impossible with pepp. much less coming in midway thru the academic year..............

i dont knw which to choose! both haf their different pros and cons freak freak freak

if i live on campus i dont haf to deal with parking problems........... but if i live off i can do anyting i want and i like my housemates.

cooking

menu for last nite's dinner:
- curry chicken by dearest tariq
- garlic rice by nicole
- bee hoon by me
- salad by the germans
cleaning was done by the frenchies

it was my first time cooking here in hk and it was hilarious! firstly the pans weren't big enuf to take all of the bee hoon i had prepared coz there are abt 11 of us for dinner so had to make lots of bee hoon. it was a mess but at least it sort of came out edible. thank you to tomek for inviting all of us to dinner that was absolutely enjoyable. tariq can make the most delicious instant curry i haf eaten. need to remember to grab the receipe from him! and my fingers smelt of garlic for the longest time from jus cutting up all the garlic needed for the garlic rice. it was really yummy for nicole's first time at cooking this dish.

by the end of the nite everything was consumed and everyone had fun eating together.
a good meal doesnt necessarily need to haf good food to eat but jus the wonderful company

on another note, today i got my eyelashes permed!!!!!!!!!! its now supposed to stay curled even without mascara and all. so far im happy with it but who knws.... heh... its just something fun to try. photos of my eyelashes will be posted soon :) the guys here are finding it hilarious that i permed my eyelashes.

friendship

a friend just asked me recently y i was being so nice to him even though we're not close and given the context of how our friendship started and is now, there's a bigger chance of not ever developing it if i want to.
wat makes a good friend?
which qualities do u prefer in the other person to decide whether it's worth ur effort to maintain the friendship?

to me friendship is very important. given my family situation, i guess its easier for me to seek laughter from my friends and comfort in the few that im really close to. everyone thinks me as being very open and friendly to everyone else but i really pick the ones that i want to keep in contact with much less share my thots with.
since last year, ive been travelling so much, making friends all over the world esp with this semester, its really hard for me to hold down a group of friends im always with. but there's always the few that i will always go back to no matter where i am. they are my strong pillar of strengh when i need their help. and they know who they are :) my life is always so much better when they're around
when im done with this semester in hk, i would haf made friends all over europe and i really hope that i will be able to keep in contact with the few that ive gotten close to but its going to be really hard. who knows how many more times in my lifetime im going to get to see them again. i think if im lucky hopeful at the most twice? unless i decide to move to europe and then i'll haf problems with the friends ive made in the US.
im really so blessed and lucky to haf met all these different people from all over the world that to an extent im not really looking forward to going back to cali next semester and miss all these people here. life will definately be so much more mundane.

different people come and go all through my life and the thing is im only 21 and there'll be so many more that will open my eyes to what the world can offer. each and everyone of the friends that i haf spent time with are all little treasures that God has given me to teach me new things. to expose me to the different people out there coming from all sorts of background who will make their mark in my life one way or another.

got a call yesterday from a really unexpected person. it was a really good phonecall that im glad things between us haf not gone sour. this is one friendship i hope to last for a long long time. spent over an hour catching up on what we've missed out on each other's lives but i feel as if i still haf more to catch up on. hopefully we'll be able to spend more time next semester jus doing that.

with this my dearest of dearest friend will be coming in 3 days!!!!!!!!! and im so looking forward to that :)

junk boating

for our weekly monday meetings.... today we got a treat and went on a junk boat ride around the hk habour!

it was really cool.... both literally and metaphorically.... the boat was really nice but the weather was a little too cold for the boat ride to be enjoyed fully.

the boat was owned by DFS at the dispense of their executives. thankfully a pepp alum's dad was one of them and the couple brought us on board. we brought the pizzas, brownies and drinks on board at arnd 6 this evening. we boated arnd till after the light show and goodness it really was magical to watch the light show aboard a boat. i never realised that the kowloon side had some lights switched on too until tonite so we got to see both kowloon and hk side of the light show since we were in the middle of both places. its one experience that i will never forget! it was really fun with all my friends arnd but the winds were a little too cold so i think im pretty much down with something rite now.

got a sweet little phonecall tonite from my very first bf. and that was a nice perk up for me :) thank you my dear. trying to get him to come to la next year for a bit... since i haf a house now it'll be sooooo easy for pple to come and visit and stay with me! i really hope he comes... and sarah and gina and johan.... haha..... if only everyone can come! it'll be wonderful.

congrats sarah on getting her internship! so happy for her.... now she's got to apply for leave to come and visit hk! haha

rugby

its been a good, long, sorta relaxing sunday. well if i dont count some phonecalls that threw me into stress mode for a while

the weekend has come and gone so quickly that i wish time could and would stop.

i decided to take it easy this weekend after stressing out the whole week and it's been really good to me. but now i haf to start studying again blah to prepare for the finals in 2 weeks yikes!

yesterday started with a rugby game i decided to go to. sanji and stuey were playing and i think this would be one of the last times they're playing while im arnd so thus lugging my butt to the rugby game. it was such a nice day out, the sun was shining while the weather was still cool. its days like this that makes me really happy :)

RAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this was a cute kid that was tumbling all over the field... his dad was one of the rugby guys and the dad's friend decided that it would be hilarious to dump the kid with me!
he's only 14 mths old!

after..... i went off to watch a comedy as part of the french film fest. 2 spy movies in 2 days.... i watched the new james bond the nite before (friday) with 6 other guys in school. the wonders of hongkong.... the dvd was out before the movie was playing here. i was soooo lucky to be the only girl and also coz all their girls had left them for the weekend so they were hanging out with me heh. thankfully they were a wonderful company coz the new james bond SUCKS.... its horrible! yes i knw its suppose to be the very first bond film but stilllllll..........
1. he's BLONDE!!!!!!!!! no bond is suppose to be blonde
2. there werent any really cool cars this time... well there was only one(dbs). but the first car he drove was a FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. no gadgets and cool guns!
4. he actually QUITS!!!!! when the girl asks him to.... hello? its bond.... not some other guy. he doesnt quit his job so easily
5. this time ended in the way that the story is to be continued in the next instalement. ewwww

so yes back to the french film fest. it was rather interesting... but my friends were all saying that i wldnt get most of the jokes coz i dont speak french. after, we headed back to school to watch yet another movie heh. movie weekend!!!!!!!

so that's all to my weekend... hope u guys had a good one too!
