on a totally different subject, it seems that of the 3 of us im suppose to be the first to get married coz according to miss gina im born for it and the only explaination is coz of my indon blood or whatever it is. talking abt it, it is going to be expensive for the first of us to get married coz then there's 2 maid of honours and the first has to rent a private island i think its called necktar island? in celebration haha
sarah was tired from work, gina's nose is stuffed and im just tired from the damn heat so we've been talking a lot of frivolous, random things haha

sometimes i feel as if coming back home is as bad if not worse than going thru finals week
the stress of being under scrutiny from everyone is tremendous
and today seems like one of those days
like nothing can seem to go right
only wrong
and that everything that does go wrong is blamed on me
coz im a girl
coz im the oldest
coz im not as holy as i shd be
coz i dont follow the traditional rules to every dot

very little keep me together and it all seems to fall apart today
i wish i could be cuddled and sayanged and told that everything will be fine
i dont need people telling me that im not living up to expectations, that im not good enuf
i wish to be somewhere else having a REAL holiday
away from all this bullshit

best part of it all is that i've only been back for a week! one week.... or 9 days and im counting down to when im going back to cali, away from this all
to concentrate on school and to curse and swear for 4 weeks of all school term knowing that it will end soon
but this, this will not end soon

coming home has always been one of a conflicted choice....

on one hand i love coming back becoz of my dear friends, the food, the nite life, the proximity to other asian coutries, my brothers etc

but mess with other people just keeps me away

if i ever do decide to cut my hair it'll be bcoz of the damn weather here! argh

ever since getting back ive already experienced the 2 weather of spore... freaking blistering hot/humid and the rain..... take yesterday gina and i cldnt even leave anywhere airconditioned for fear of the heat... but early early this morning it poured heavy rain with thunder and all! or actually with the time now make all the yesterdays and all the day before heh

its 450am now and i just got back from an amazing nite out... love all my friends that made this nite wonderful :) lots of champange and lycheetinis and vodka was consumed and 2 flamings for the virgin drinkers haha including my brother that made me proud by not even feeling the alcohol! heh haha good dinner, good company, good drinks wat more can a girl ask for?

1st nite out with friends since coming back and it hasnt let me down yet

nite swimming with more champagne tmr nite :) no more crowds for this weekend so no more zouk even with a guest dj
off to ploock my butt down early at book cafe tmr to work work work.... before swimming and possibly joggin with my brothers in the afternoon

guess my phone wont be ringing any time soon so im off to catch some zzzzs

jetlag is such a pain..... its 6 am here and im wide awake! came home from my darling's bday crashed immediately after many many glasses of champange only to get up and take a shower

back home finally

after a really long 18 hour flight via narita with only 1 hour of slp and the rest of the time spent watching movies, im actually wide wide awake

home is home at the end of the day
its sticky
its warm as hell
but it has its own attractions

brother noticed i din haf my usual welcome club at the airport saying that i shd just come home less often..... and he also threatened me with walking home within 10 mins of sitting in the car. its our usual thing... aaron picks me up at the airport i complain about him driving too slow and he threatens to pull over and make me walk :) i love my brothers especially since he didnt really haf to pick me up since he does haf work in approx 4 hours from now which i haf to send him to ha.

check out my huge ugly bruise on my arm..... and i haf a party to go to in a day! it wont go away by then...... :(

its going to be soooooo busy over the next 2-3 days that hopefully i wont forget to breathe... its going to be a additional pain with jetlag too

just found out too that mom's off to sydney so its PARTY all weekend long!!!!

came home from a crazy 100 multiple choice macroecons today and decided to fuck it all and tan out in my backyard

sun was out this afternoon so i wasnt alone.... natasha and mats also joined me out back as we soaked in the rays. natasha's in town visiting patrick while mats for karl.... im the only one without a friend :(

buddy decided to join in the fun with natasha and join her on her towel

time flies really quick

before u know it my semester is drawing to an end, and i'll be flying home at the end of this week,

gina's done with her crazy thesis and graduating!!!!!

matt too is graduating, and aaron.... haha goodness so many people are graduating already!

and johan's going to leave for melb again

so much has happened this semester... hehe

got my car damaged really bad and ive been on a car rental madness

check out the amazing cars that ive confused my insurance company with :P

first up, G35 from infinity..... love the engine of the car but unless u can overlook the lack of luxury in the car its amazing :)

but my fav was the merc c230 sports edition...... after the G35 the pick up wasnt as good but it was a smooth ride

saving the best for last..........

patrick and i rented a baby blue lotus elise convertable..... it was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

i love it how i have a racecar driver as a roommate coz he took me for a spin thru the canyon between 80-100mph!!!! it was wow........ i have absolutely no words for the experience... we both miss the car so we might just rent it again next semester for the fun of it heh

faculty bbq

its friday of deadweek and guess what i did today.....

i spent the whole day today and last nite prepping for a faculty dinner for the chem department as part of patrick's kiss ass move :) haha

cross my fingers that i will be able to get a higher grade for chem!

we had lots of appetizers and for the main it was partick's yummy burgers. thankfully my bread pudding came out successful and that was for dessert!

100th post!!!!!!!

so ive been waiting for a good post to write for my 100th post and i cant find a better reason to

i had such an amazing time this past weekend! haha cant say i did much but i had fun just chilling....

i realised that im getting old coz the perfect weekend for me consist of staying home with good friends, watching tv, staying in bed, cooking even and probably a nite out (either friday or saturday not both or maybe both hahaha)

but watever.... im still recovering from the high of this weekend

first i had a visitor in town

then, off to visit another good friend

and now, i haf to start studying for finals :p

buddy ate up 12 cubes of BROWNIES!!!!!!
and for all who dont knw dogs basically can die from eating chocolates much less this much!
katie made yummy gooey choc brownies that she left on a high counter in the kitchen and after her shower it was gone! at first she thot i ate it all up or hid it as a joke but after we were rushing off to the vets to get the stupid choc out of the dog! hahaha
as much noise patrick makes abt buddy, the house was quiet this evening after we left buddy at the vets for a bit... in fact we're still waiting for katie to bring him back.
patrick's actually talking abt getting a cat for the next house.... rite

karl came back tonite and after hearing abt the wonderful weekend he's like,
i shouldn't leave u kids alone!
hahhahaha

so i talked to my insurance agent today and crossing my fingers that the SLK lady has enuf insurance coverage to cover everyone or else im going to haf to foot some money out and i dont want to blah...... hate all this problems
tmr im going to head down to the bodyshop and see what they say about me baby (or wat is left of it at least)

after finding out i got a little whiplash ivan was like, ce, i din know u were so fragile!

on another note.....

had bbq with benny and dave and song and desiree last nite.... and patrick did a great job of it soooo yummy

im thinking of renting a c class for a week

late night adventures

so what started out as a slow day became really interesting towards the end.

woke up early friday morning, din really want to get out of bed for macro especially since nicole is off to freakin hawaii land leaving me, myself and i to tackle the class all by myself wasnt looking really all that interesting... but anyway i did manage to get up and rush to school for class only to find out that class had been cancelled. :( stupid teacher

but anyway in the afternoon went to check out this house really near school and could actually contend with this present house. its alot smaller but then again i cant really expect to stay in another 4 acre land now can i. but this house is in malibu, its up another canyon but the neighbourhood is really pretty and quiet. i quite like it but we still have to figure out the figures.

after, left for new china town to grab really late dinner coz we were trying to avoid traffic... had ok chinese food but then again i am in LA so cant really complain much.
rushed off to pasadena to check out electrico's last performance here in LA. unfortunately luck wasnt on our side.... we hit soo much traffic trying to get there we got there late and in addition, the bloody pub is not on the main street. we ended up having driving round and round and round trying to look out for the pub. at first i thought that maybe just maybe i remembered the name wrong...... but i was right! in fact the pub was in an alley not visible unless u really look for it! haha a quaint little indie rock pub.
oh my goodness my first time ever being surrounded by sooooo many singaporeans. mostly from usc too *shudder*

i wonder y when im here i tend to shun fellow singaporeans

this is sean.... he's from singapore and i've known him for quite a bit. he lives in a castle back home *ssshhhh*

so on my way home i got to see sean's usc dorm room and usc campus itself for the first time and it was different haha

AND THEN..............................

my car got halfway totalled... someone knocked into me real hard... my car is screwed up now... luckily there were police around coz i think that americans just dont know how to drive when its something out of the ordinary....
we were driving on the 10 freeway and 4 out of 5 lines were closed for washing so traffic slowed down quite abit. i figured that it would take some time to get home but dint think it'll take this long! goodness me.

at exactly 215 am.... a brand new white merc convertible smashed straight into my ass.... creating a 4 car pile up totally ruining her front, my ass and a little of my front and a little of the other 2 cars ahead of me

and here's the kicker

joanne drove out to come get me since my car is no longer drivable.... she parked her car quite a distance back and left her hazard lights on. this was with us parked at the far end of the freeway.... essentially we were 4 lines away from where all the cars were allowed to drive at when SUDDENLY
some moron decides to knock into joanne's car too!
best part was that he tried driving away too!
and this was already with at least 3 police cars around me due to my accident.... so some of them actually ended up taking their guns out... talk about drama rite?
this resulted in yet another 3 car pile up
goodness knows how in the world 2 drivers could not see the cone dividers when everyone else could. how stupid

thankfully no one got hurt

well that was my friday, the start of this weekend.... hopefully saturday and sunday will not be as eventful haha
