vancouver!!!!

its been a mad few weeks.... had my birthday, prepared for midterms then came along spring break!

one of my bestest present this year

for my last spring break... im all the way up in my usual vancouver.... land of salmon, brown bears etc :)
been wasting time just lazying around, hanging out with my cousins, watching too much korean drama with my aunt and swooning at korean actors. i need to start putting time aside for the things i need to get done before i drown in pilled up work when this week is over. oops.
tuesday i managed to drag amy up to the usual mountain to come skiing/snowboarding with me, she snowboards while i ski. both of us hadnt been on the slopes in a while but soon enuf we got the hang of it and had sooooo much fun! God blessed us with perfect weather and pretty good snow.... and since it was tuesday... we pretty much had the slopes to ourselves which was GREAT. i heart skiing.... didnt realise just how much i missed the sport till i got my skis on. :D

we both called it a day after a few runs and drove down just as the sun started to set.... the view was breathtaking. too bad my camera cant capture the beauty of it but anyway here are some attemptsvancouver.... the place of my own many firsts :D hahaha a place of many fond memories and i just cant help but to reminisce

birthday

birthday week started on the 11th with dinner at providence.... it was YUMMY. was busy enjoying the food and wine so no nice pictures of the food. they basically pilled on truffles on all dishes that had it.... the fish dishes were amazing!!! desserts didnt appear all that appetizing thou but they had curry sorbet and marsala flavoured sorbet too... how odd isnt it

then it was off to school the whole day........ but i got some gifts along the way then at the end of a really long and tiring day the girls were so nice as to drag me and their tired butts down to the standard.... unfortunately the bouncers werent nice and didnt let delia in so we just stayed down at the lounge and drank bottles of wine instead :)

ITS MY YEAR!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
hehe its my year this year!!!!!

CHARACTERISTICS
Smart, Magnetic, Well-liked, Affable, Quick-witted, Surreptitious, Selfish, Protective, Calculating

THE WOOD RAT 1924 AND 1984
Despite having a remarkable facade of self-confidence, deep down, Wood Rats are the least sure of themselves compared to other Rats. However, they wouldn't dream of showing this side of themselves to anyone. Only close companions of a Wood Rat would ever suspect that he or she had such self-doubt. In fact Wood Rats are often worried about downfall, despite their ability to find success. Well-liked, proficient, and good leaders at work, Wood Rats seem to function best when they are surrounded by family and friends. Cordial and delicate, they are usually well loved by family, friends and peers.

THE RAT ON THE JOB
The Chinese say others should always listen to the advice of the Rat. Because of their intellect and observatory powers, Rat people possess prudence and perception. They can anticipate problems, and are always able to see the big picture. They can hone in on issues at hand and make measurable judgments. These skills, combined with their sense of aspiration also make them clever operators. Status, money, title, and recognition are important to the Rat. They have keen senses of observation that allow them to foresee upcoming business opportunities as well as potential occupational problems. The Rat makes a better boss than an employee and, although motivated, they can be pinned down by routines. Rats work better in flexible situations where they can be freely creative.
FRIENDS AND ENEMIES
Generally friendly and sociable, the Rat is one of the extroverts of the Animal Zodiac. Often, the Rat is lively and genial, and has a special gift for easing the minds of others. It is not surprising that Rats have a lot of friends. They are great speakers and intriguing conversationalists, and can generally find something to say on just about any topic or subject. Of course, there is always that renowned Rat lure that allows them to charm the pants off of people! To the people they love, Rats can be amazingly charitable, popular and supportive, and will go out of their way to be certain their loved ones are content. On the other hand, if the Rat does not like someone, he is considered fair game and can be used to achieve any and all of the Rat's desires. At the end of the day, though, the Rat is a loyal friend and will be there for his companions through thick and thin.

wasnt all that pretty accurate?

last nite was the first time in ages that i was beyond stuffed....
went to table 8 for dinner with swas and had yummy appetizers.... 6 to be exact to be shared between 4 pple.
then it was on to the main course.... fong and i shared their specialty potterhouse steak which had to be ordered upon reservation.... it was this huge piece of cow that was half fillet mignon and half new york steak.... and oh my goodness was it good. it is so surprising how it tastes so different on the same t-bone
everyone was struggling to finish up when it was time to decide on desserts..... we were all so stuffed even 1 dessert to be shared didnt sound too fun but y not rite....
but then the next thing we knw..... 4 dishes of dessert was placed on our table! ON THE HOUSE said the waiter hahahahhaa.... oh my goodness we were so astonished we were all just silent for 2 secs before reacting!
amazingly we actually finished up 3 of the 4 hahahahhaa such gluttony
~pure bliss

im now very very slpyyyyyyyy and i still think there's some part of the huge amt of steak we had somewhere in my system

School's Started :(

a new year a new beginning....
welcome to 2008!!!!!!!!
i know im a little late ~oops

so its been total utter madness since the night ushering in 2008
i spent my countdown at loof hoping to catch the fireworks gina was in charge of with good friends minus gina (who was obviously at work)
this year's countdown had alot of pple missing from it but i had to make the most out of it

sinclair trying to pose for the missing darling

then it was off packing the night away before meeting for my last dinner before flying off early 2nd jan morning
after 16-18 long long hours on the plane, across the pacific ocean and stopping over at narita... i landed in LA only to catch another flight to vancouver canada and that was not all.... the next day it was off to kelowna to settle my brother in to the 2nd campus of UBC
3 days of pure shopping for stuff.... whoever said girls shop bad i think guys are too just not as obvious.
white christmas trees!
since there was really nothing much to do we played cards to kill time :)

in total.... between the 2nd - 7th I've spent at least 26 hours on the plane not counting the horrible waiting time and service in the airport.... i never believed i would say this but im so sick of travelling and planes that for now im just happy to be home, well a sort of home anyway.

i arrived back in LA after missing a flight thus missing 1 day at school and driving home really late last nite i had class starting at 8 which is my very not interesting class of humanities woopee so as of rite now my brain has switched off for another few hours till i haf 3hrs worth of int. law :p the great life of a student

continuing on my ramblings im glad to haf made the short trip home... got to see good friends again, met their spouses, eat very yummy food, spend time with family.
now that i can actually sit down and breathe for awhile im so happy and glad and appreciative towards God for giving me the people around me and the opportunity to spend time with them
wishing all an overall wonderful 2008
