junk boating

for our weekly monday meetings.... today we got a treat and went on a junk boat ride around the hk habour!

it was really cool.... both literally and metaphorically.... the boat was really nice but the weather was a little too cold for the boat ride to be enjoyed fully.

the boat was owned by DFS at the dispense of their executives. thankfully a pepp alum's dad was one of them and the couple brought us on board. we brought the pizzas, brownies and drinks on board at arnd 6 this evening. we boated arnd till after the light show and goodness it really was magical to watch the light show aboard a boat. i never realised that the kowloon side had some lights switched on too until tonite so we got to see both kowloon and hk side of the light show since we were in the middle of both places. its one experience that i will never forget! it was really fun with all my friends arnd but the winds were a little too cold so i think im pretty much down with something rite now.

was planning to get a little studying done tonite but im just going to rest up and start early tmr.

got a sweet little phonecall tonite from my very first bf. and that was a nice perk up for me :) thank you my dear. trying to get him to come to la next year for a bit... since i haf a house now it'll be sooooo easy for pple to come and visit and stay with me! i really hope he comes... and sarah and gina and johan.... haha..... if only everyone can come! it'll be wonderful.

congrats sarah on getting her internship! so happy for her.... now she's got to apply for leave to come and visit hk! haha

its been a good, long, sorta relaxing sunday. well if i dont count some phonecalls that threw me into stress mode for a while

the weekend has come and gone so quickly that i wish time could and would stop.

i decided to take it easy this weekend after stressing out the whole week and it's been really good to me. but now i haf to start studying again blah to prepare for the finals in 2 weeks yikes!

yesterday started with a rugby game i decided to go to. sanji and stuey were playing and i think this would be one of the last times they're playing while im arnd so thus lugging my butt to the rugby game. it was such a nice day out, the sun was shining while the weather was still cool. its days like this that makes me really happy :)

this was a cute kid that was tumbling all over the field... his dad was one of the rugby guys and the dad's friend decided that it would be hilarious to dump the kid with me!
he's only 14 mths old!

after..... i went off to watch a comedy as part of the french film fest. 2 spy movies in 2 days.... i watched the new james bond the nite before (friday) with 6 other guys in school. the wonders of hongkong.... the dvd was out before the movie was playing here. i was soooo lucky to be the only girl and also coz all their girls had left them for the weekend so they were hanging out with me heh. thankfully they were a wonderful company coz the new james bond SUCKS.... its horrible! yes i knw its suppose to be the very first bond film but stilllllll..........

2. there werent any really cool cars this time... well there was only one(dbs). but the first car he drove was a FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. no gadgets and cool guns!
4. he actually QUITS!!!!! when the girl asks him to.... hello? its bond.... not some other guy. he doesnt quit his job so easily
5. this time ended in the way that the story is to be continued in the next instalement. ewwww

so yes back to the french film fest. it was rather interesting... but my friends were all saying that i wldnt get most of the jokes coz i dont speak french. after, we headed back to school to watch yet another movie heh. movie weekend!!!!!!!

so that's all to my weekend... hope u guys had a good one too!

today's a really good day.... well to an extent it is anyway. i no longer have to worry about housing when i get back to pepperdine coz my friends haf found me housing off campus.... i dont really knw where yet or how it looks like but its a 5 bedroom house and ive got 2 really good friends im moving in with so im really happy! wooopeeeeee!!!!
note to those who want to visit: you better visit now while i have a cool house to stay in! a house NOT an apartment!!!!!! yay!

on a sadder note..... delia's leaving in a few hours..... this semester has passed so fast and its the end already. i dont knw when i'll be able to see her again and im going to miss her sooooo much. she's been a wonderful friend to me, and thru this trip we've gotten closer.
to this darlin: take lots of care of urself! u will be in my prayers and i cant wait to see u again soon whereever that might be... thanks so much for being such a great friend and making hk enjoyable and fun. cheers to all the time we spent gossiping and laughing :)

I DO NOT THINK that EVERYONE involved in the previous entry are like i said they were and im sorry.
it was a sweeping statement and to the anonymous commentor im really sorry if i haf offended u.
i think some of the people there are really good people and worth keeping as friends but the majority of them i personally find superficial and that's only what i think that's y this is MY blog and i was just feeling frustrated and thus the sweeping statement... so there's no need for people to get personal.
if i really did think everyone was that bad a person, i wldnt even bother to keep in touch with some of them especially now that i'm overseas

changes

talked to a friend recently... and i havent seen him for a few mths
he has changed.
ive always had an issue with him trying too hard to prove that he's cool enuf for the others arnd him and before at least he kept it to a minimum, but now it has become who he is...
i dont care. i knw him too well, knw his little secrets, just because we no longer see each other all the time doesnt mean that u have something to prove to me. or to anyone else especially friends u've grown up with.
i try to make it a point to talk to friends that mean something more to me and since being in hk i have actually talked to him once a week? once in 2 weeks? but the amt of change the minute he goes thru once put in the far east grp is too much. he thinks he has something to prove to them... but for what? they are all superficial people afterall... they are not ur real friends pls dont drive the ones who dont judge away. these are the friends that u need to treasure and not piss off by acting, putting up a front.
so what if u're study smart? be proud of it.... dont push it aside by trying so hard to be part of this group that thinks its so cool to date girls half their age, wear bathing ape and other street cult brands... cant u see its all a waste?
we din work out but there's no need to keep telling me that this girl want u or that girl want u.... i'll be whole heartedly happy for u if u find the one right for u. there's no need to act like such a tough guy
im sad to hear the changes in you. and this is me not even being able to physically see it for myself but only thru the phone. i hope u will snap out of this soon or u'll loose the ones who truely care for u.

~i was really hoping to transfer to ur school. on one hand is coz its a better school but both ur friendships were also a big pull factor but now i find myself hesitating. one changed so much, the other swears that we'll be friends but what is ur definition of friendship? cutting off all forms of communication for mths?

went to the docs again today.... need to kick this cough away once and for all coz its come back again since coming back here to hk

gina's coming soon!!!!!! i can hardly WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we're going to haf so much fun and its so nice to have her here.... if only time could fly just a little faster.... but then again when gina does come, its going to be finals so its a no win situation haha

my last trip back home has made me want to go back soon again but this trip will be different... gina wont be arnd. and this trip back will only be 2 weeks long before i haf to head back to la *sigh.... i want to stay longer... spend more time with my brothers and my friends... in other words haf fun over starting studying again haha. cant wait to see matt again.... he's one friend that even though we haf little in common, there's a sense of comfortability of being arnd him that makes me stick arnd... maybe its his enthusiasm for life that's so hard to find, no judgment passed, the uniqueness of matt... its all so attractive

i hate stats..... im having such a hard time understanding the subject.... did so badly for my last test its depressing..... was hoping to get really good gpa this semester but jus coz this one subject its going to muck the whole thing up

since i was so smart to think that its no longer going to rain here in hongkong, i left my wellies back in singapore and the moment i do that, God decides to be cheeky and let it pour here!

i love the smell of rain and the cool weather that comes with rain but i hate the wetness! my shoes get ruin and feet soaked thru.......

but other than that this weekend ended rather well. went to ruth chris' steak house on Sunday for Mike's bday and had my first good steak in the longest time.... gina.... we were suppose to go to Morton's for the wagyu steak sandwiches!

everyone dressed up for dinner and we were the youngest around the restaurant! haha the US beef was good but i felt that it was served with a tad bit too much butter. some places that ive had the perfect steak would be lawrys and boa... but this was a good dinner. dessert was delicious too heh

have nothing much planned for this week as its back to school and the books.... one more final project to complete before finals come.... blah
its crazy how this semester is ending already. time flies so fast.... sometimes i find myself wanting it to end much faster but its times like this when im having fun with the friends ive made here that i dont want it to end jus yet. all these people that ive met here in hk.... we're all going our seperate ways after this semester and i dont knw when the next time we're meeting again

it was absolute mayhem

ever go clubbing with ur laptop?

its a pain in the ass! haha i had to bring my laptop along last nite coz nicole and i were due to register for our classes yesterday nite at 1130 rite smack in the middle of the launch party. spent a whole hr in the lobby of the hotel of where the club tribeca was located trying to get my essential classes. and i was only able to get 3 out of the 5...... crossing my fingers that i will be able to get the rest that i want.

last nite was CRAZY!!!!!!!! after the last blog entry, a group of us headed down to tribeca for the launch of juice magazine and it was soooooooooo crowded! as most of u already knw im not a fan of waiting and crowds. but by the time we got there we were not able to get in immediately coz the fashion show was still on and they werent allowing pple in. so it was waiting outside time and we had to wait a whole hr! argh.... it was bad coz i had refused to line up as usual and started this whole new crowd rite in front of the bouncer coz i was on the guestlist. so after.... everyone else started to stand where i stood saying that they too were on the guestlist. it was MADNESS

but there were some really pretty pple arnd....

the best part of it was when i had finished my registration and got upstairs again when they were serving my vodka jelly!!!! hahaha....... it actually came out ok and everyone liked it! this girl was licking the cup clean! and i started talking to her.... "oh u really like the jelly?"

the nite ended pretty boring.... agreed that the djs were good but it wasnt a really fun party... the guys were all drunk by the time we decided to leave at arnd 1. instead of heading off again to somewhere else, the girls and i decided to come back to the dorms and call it a nite. but it wasnt without some fun.... delia found a vending machine that had 2 packets of food stuck and so delia and nikki started shaking it 360 to try and get it out! haha and the best part was that none of us had actually paid for the food! so we spent at least half an hour making a fool of ourselves laughing and working the machine in attempt to get the 2 boxes of food out in vain. (if only i knew how to upload videos i would show this craziness!) :)

so today was set aside in vain..... im officially not in a good mood. it was one of my better friend's bday today and i had set it aside to spend it with him upon his request. and the next thing i knw he plays me out for the whole day! guys suck.... they can never ever keep their promises! freak they're so unreliable and i keep thinking that they will keep their promises but i guess not.... sigh

happy birthday my dear.... sorry im a day late haha but its only a blog entry and im sure u're having too much fun in phuket to log on and blame me

its been soooooo busy since getting back from spore...... wont haf a breather for a while. im only finding time now in between engagements to take a rest before the drowiness of my cough syrup hits me :p those things are strong! within 3 days of coming back ive done a presentation which the rest of my grp mates haf to take credit for coz i din do anything. love lots to them... thks guys for covering for me :) went thru the most horrible stats test EVER... it was bad bad bad. think that's the one subject that will affect my gpa and its so stupid! argh. its not like i dont study.... freak blah urgh. and today got up to go to tribecca, the club where tonite's event is going to be held to see what i can do to help with cecile. and oh my goodness.... we both were made to make vodka jelly and im really crossing my fingers that no one will haf food/jelly poisoning coz seriously the kitchen was DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! yikes it was sooooooo DIRTY and ylucky and ewwwww seriously its sending chills down my back just thinking abt it. and cecile and i had to make do with wat little they had to make the jellies. and its the first time ive ever been to a kitchen where there's no dish washing detergent in sight!

so more abt the party later.... im off to rest... the slp has kicked in

the most WONDERFUL weekend

GINA'S 21st BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!

it was one crazy weekend that i had....... flew back home for an amazing 4 days of non-stop partying and just hanging out with friends. im totally exhausted but feel rejuvenated by meeting all my friends. it feels so good and safe and comfortable to be back... getting hugs from all my guy friends. this trip to hk really made me appreciate things back home so much more especially my friends. i'll be really sad when everyone is done with ns and head off to different parts of the world to continue their education. and its already starting.... brad's heading back to arizona so the next time i go home he wont be there :( BUT i get to see him in az! im looking forward to seeing him back in his comfort zone.... its going to be another good trip and hopefully it'll be soon

this trip back was meant to be a surprise for miss gina but she was smart enuf not to fall for my bogey blog entry 2 entries ago... haha so it wasnt much of a surprise for her when i showed up for dinner :p and this was on friday nite. after we girls did wat we do.... watch dim sum dollies! it was a really good musical and dave tan was the evil flower which was really funny!

sat was spent getting ready for the party of the year! it was pouring the whole day! wet wet wet. but nonetheless us girls got our nails done... hair and makeup all taken care of. sarah and gina looked gorgeous as usual. had a good mediterranean food before heading off to level 72! tt's when the nite started and ended with me making an embarrasement of myself infront of everyone................

sunday was spent with my darling brothers. they've all changed so much since i last saw them - its really not so easy for me to send them into camp when all i want to do with them is spend more time with them talking to them and irritating them (one of the perks of being the only sister) :) cant wait to see them when i go back in christmas

here was what i did over this past weekend:

FRIDAY

• met up with rah rah and shopped for gina's present while doing some quick shopping heh
  
• went over to canele's to pick up present part 2..... a polkadot chocolate box to put the tiff&co. box in... pang is really an amazing pastry chef



• had SUSHI!!!!!!!! yummy met gina here haha... it was such a hassle to fig out a way for my entrance only to find out that she was expecting me.... but yummy sushi nonetheless
  
• watched little shop of horrors by the wonderful dim sum dollies. we havent watched this without each other yet. heh...


• headed off to zouk and butter factory with sarah. gina wanted to rest in preparation for the next day so it was only the 2 of us along with my friends frm the us in town with me. met up with kah sian in zouk and he was nice enuf to buy drinks for sarah and i :) ks and i ended up with an agreement that while he's earning more than me... he'll take care of me and vice versa once i earn more than him haha. ohhhhhhhhh i had a wonderful supper at boon tong kee.... yummy chicken rice and fried beancurd. the nite ended at arnd 5? when ks was falling aslp while hanging out at home
  

SATURDAY

• brought stuey, nicole, delia, sanji to banana leaf to haf yummy indian food. only thing was that it started to pour cats and dogs when we were done with lunch
  
• went for my first pedi and mani in the longest at hv


• got ready for dinner


• went to esmiralda in chijmes for yummy mediterranean food and good dessert too


• headed over to level 72 to start the partying!

• had a little tea with my neighbour, cece pat. i havent seen her in at least 10 years and she was back coincidentally the same weekend as me! it was crazy to see her so different from wat i remembered her to be
  
• spent the evening spending time with aaron and ivan, sending them to different ends of spore to their respective camps



• drove arnd to show the hk pple one last time
  
• met jon, dre and oldfart at alamin
  

MONDAY

• doctors - for him to put me on a ton of antibiotic blah
  
• got my eyebrows threaded - i finally feel like a lady again
  
• golf! 2 full hours of it
  
• walked over to alvin's new shop to say hi to him and earn
  
• hung out at alley's with sarah and gina and johan with the best lychee margharita made by the one and only ashlee
  
• went over to brad's once he got up frm his slumber..... jus to say hi to him and get a huge hug before he heads off to az and i wont be able to see him for at least another 3 mths :(

all the partying, meeting up with friends and eating was all squshed into 4 days! its crazy where my weekend has gone and im back here in hk not ready to start classes again. sigh its back to reality for me and its not nice... all the studying and school stuff. sniff

the countdown to my next big adventure was suppose to be done over this weekend but everything just isnt working out early this morning. blah

over the last 3 weekends everyone has been leaving for beijing... and since i dont really want to go again i decided to stay in. THEN cecile suggested that a group of us girls leave for macau for the weekend. it was going to be soooo fun.... 6 girls in macau? i was really looking forward to a weekend out of here. then everything started falling apart......................
1. i wasnt able to get my tickets until dad sent me money rite.... so now only the expensive ones and available.............. so i was thinking abt it
2. stats test got pushed back by a week.... so instead of mugging over this weekend tt passed i haf to mug over this coming weekend
3. last of all cecile has family stuff she HAS to do this weekend so no more trip :(

hmewrk post AGAIN

im doing this before i forget........ im suppose to discuss - education in general

just thinking back on conversations with friends i have made here about their background.... in general everyone's gone thru their own hard times to get to uni. whether it is abt going against their parents thinking that uni is a waste of time or just money issues. but one thing that alot of the europeans do before entering uni is to work. and the best part is that they go to a neighbouring country to work and enjoy life for at least half a year. having done this route too by taking a year off to travel and work... i really dont regret it one bit. it was really interesting and i had fun for the most part at least. but i had worries that i would not be able to get into the groove of studying again after that break.

for most of the europeans... graduation means working. whether it is working back in their own countries or the neighbouring ones. all of them would aim for getting the highest paid job. even though most of them are reluctant to work elsewhere due to various reasons... they are willing to migrate just to be able to get better pay.
for the chinese on the other hand even thou majority of the girls are more independent now. they do consider marriage as one of their options after graduation.

rocker chick

countdown to next adventure: 5 days

tonite i helped cecile out to gif out flyers at lan kwai fong for the launch party of juice magazine. officially ive gone out every possible nite this week! tues for halloween, thursday - ladies nite, friday- to be with a friend to check out guys, and now sat - giving out flyers... and seriously i haf no clue how some pple are able to go out every nite to party coz im officially EXHAUSTED.

this weekend was roommate weekend. we spent the whole day today hanging out. since cecile wanted to head to mong kok to get some stuff to wear for tonite i decided to accompany her there and take a look arnd too. i ended up buying pink hoop earrings and pink and black stripped long socks! haha all in the fun of tonite. you see, our tshirts for juice is in the colour of black with pink words and we thot it would be funny for me to wear such high socks for the first time in my life and the results...... it was hilarious! thankfully i was able to wear my converse with the outfit and could do all the walking in lkf without much problem. getting to lkf was a trip on its own... i felt as if i was dressing up for halloween again as i NEVER dress like a rocker chick out. the hot pink and black socks definately drew alot of attention! haha im think im getting use to the crazy socks.... might even start liking them :p

im really lucky to haf her arnd to keep me sane and take me out to yummy curry bread bowl dinners. we're so similar and im so happy that i haf her as the very first person i had to share a room with, a very small room nonetheless. lucky thing is that she's alot nicer than me :)

kebabs at 330am

countdown to my next adventure: 7 days

weather here in hk is getting chillier.... the wind is blowing stronger and i wore jeans for the first time since getting here! its such a nice perfect weather coz its not so hot and humid as before and neither is it winter cold... its just nice

i realised that ive been really slacking here in hk.... i havent gotten my eyebrows threaded since singapore and myself waxed since then too! i feel soooooooo ugly............. and my skin! holy shit its REALLY really HORRIBLE i dont remember the last time i had such bad breakouts. its like puberty all over again just worse. for once my concealers are actually being used which is BAD freak! i wont be surprised my dermatologist making go on antibiotics again to get rid of all the pimples on my face! ewwwwwwww maybe tt's y no one's interested in me here haha.... bad bad bad :(
i feel UGLY

but anyway today was good.... finally picked up my new ck pants. i still haf some problems with it but its an incentive to loose wt haha... we'll see how that goes. after a long stats class which ended my week in school... i was ready for a nice slow nite in with mr richard branson. this is my 2nd time reading his autobiography but its the latest edition so there's suppose to be new materials included. BUT poor cecile had an arguement with her bf which ended up with me getting dressed to look pretty at 10 pm.

mission for the nite: dance dance dance

while everyone else went off to a salsa club in wan chai, cecile and i opted to go to lkf for some serious dancing. since thurs are ladies nite.... we decided to club hop the nite away. unfortunately, lkf is such a hilly place and with heels... its really gruesome haha but we had soo much fun just the 2 of us. for the most part, the djs were really good playing good songs so our mission was accomplished. unfortunately, the serious lack of good looking guys were and are a pain. :p

all of this ended with yummy kebabs consumed way too late that im sure my diet just went out the window yet again. these yummy kebabs can be found in lkf and is a good reason to go clubbing there haha. after all the dancing, elbowing guys away from us and conquering the hills of the area, i decided that the kebabs would be a good reward for a good nite's workout heh. the diet can always start tmr rite

THE place to be on Oct 31st is Lan Kwai Fong....... its pure madness!!!! people upon people.... police..... barricades.... and more people!

it took my friends and i a whole hour and a little more to work through the crowds.... and this is us squeezing our way through everyone else coz it was predicted a 2 hr long wait before being able to enter into the street of lkf! madness..... thankfully i was warned the day before to expect to walk a really detoured route thus the shoe of choice: flats..... but i was really not expecting the crowds!!!! it was crazy! sooooo many people.... some in really good costumes too

the nite started out pretty chilled after working thru the crowds with nicole, delia, andrea, christine, tariq, stuey and i hanging arnd to check out the other costumes but then it got a little boring and frustrating with all the crowds. so after a yummy kebab sandwich.... we spilt up. christine and i stayed back to meet up with karen while the others headed off to a different part of hk. thankfully i choose to stay back coz the girls and i decided to meet up with ryan and the italians at dragon-i and the party really started there! it was sooooooo fun! the guys were all dressed up in their jackets i felt so under-dressed but i was in my witch costume so who cares.
this club came as a recommendation by my dear aaron and as expected it was packed full of pretty people, crowds that im more used to. and it was such a relief to be there. first club no 9 and now dragon-i im really starting to have fun! as much as the pepp girls and i enjoy ourselves when we go to other places.... i have started to miss this scene quite a bit. im not sure how they're going to take to spore clubbing.....
but back to dragon-i.... karen and christine had to leave early while i stayed on with the guys to hang arnd the cushy chairs outside and spent time convincing the italians i was in fact singaporean not american like ryan says i am! haha.... the more i hang out with the europeans... the more i want to try and get an internship in london this summer and make aaron take me in (this is heads up for u my dear) and travel to see all these new friends ive made here in hk. it'll be fun to see them in their own homeland showing me all the local places. crossing my fingers it'll happen heh. europeans make the sweetest guys arnd!

but as all nites haf to end.... my smashing halloween had to end too. unfortunately or fortunately it ended a little too late that i cldnt make it to this morning's class haha.
